Co-codamol is a strong pain relief containing two ingredients - paracetamol and codeine - as is suitable when paracetamol and ibuprofen alone are not strong enough. Co-codamol can be used to treat many different treat a number of ailments such as headaches, migraines, period pain, muscular pain and toothache How do I take co-codamol? Adults: Take ONE or TWO tablets up to four times a day. Do not take more than 8 tablets in any 24 hours Children aged 16-18: Take ONE or TWO tablets every 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 8 tablets in any 24 hours. Children aged 12-15 years: Take ONE tablet every 6 hours, as needed. Do not take more than 4 tablets in any 24 hours. Co-codamol is NOT suitable for children under the age of 12 years old Warnings and precautions Do not take co-codamol if you: Are under 18 and have had your tonsils or adenoids removed due to obstructive sleep apnoea You know that you metabolise codeine to morphine very rapidly Do not take co-codamol if you are breastfeeding Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you: Are pregnant or planning to become pregnant Have severe kidney or liver problems Are taking benzodiazepines Co-codamol can affect your ability to drive, as it can make you feel dizzy or sleepy.
