- What are Galpharm One A Night 50mg Tablets and what are they used for? This medicine contains the active substance diphenhydramine hydrochloride which is an antihistamine with sedative properties. It works by reducing the time needed to fall asleep and increases the depth and quality of sleep. This medicine is used to aid relief of temporary sleep disturbance in adults and children over the age of 16. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION FOR MORE THAN TWOO WEEKS WITHOUT WITHOOUT CONSULTING YOUR DOCTOR How do I take Galpharm One A Night 50mg tablets? Galpharm One A Night 50mg tablets need to be taken orally. Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure Children aged 16 and over; take 1 tablet with water 20 minutes before bed NOT TO BE USED BY CHILDREN UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE/NOT TO BE USED BY THE ELDERLY WITH CONFUSION If you forget to take your 50mg tablet DO NOT take a double dose to make up for the forgotten dose, take the next dose at the usual time as described in this leaflet, if your have further questions talk to your doctor or pharmacist When should I NOT take Galpharm One A Night 50mg? Galpharm One A Night 50mg tablets should not be taken if you are currently Pregnant or Breastfeeding Under Influence of alcohol Driving Using machinery Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking these tablets if you are taking any prescribed medicines; particularly other antihistamines including those used on your skin or in cough and colds medicine; Tranquilisers or Anxiolytics Hypnotics Monoamine oxidase inhibitors Metoprolol Venlafaxine Antimuscarinics Are there any side effects when taking Galpharm One A Night 50mg? There can be some side effects when taking Galpharm One A Night 50mg, however not everyone will get them. These can include: Sedation, Drowsiness, dizziness Dry mouth Palpitations(feeling your heartbeat) Headache Confusion Rash/Hive Dependence on the medicine if used regularly or for long periods of time If you experience any of the listed side effects when taking Galpharm One A Night 50mg, please stop using it straight away and contact your GP.
