Overview Otovent® is a simple nasal balloon system used to gently open the Eustachian tube and equalise negative pressure in the middle ear. By restoring ventilation, it can help relieve symptoms such as blocked ears, dulled hearing, discomfort and a feeling of fullness. Who is it for? Adults experiencing Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD) or negative middle-ear pressure. Adults seeking support during/after flying, diving or pressure-chamber exposure. Not suitable during an active ear infection or upper respiratory tract infection (see Warnings). How it works Inflating a specially pressurised balloon through one nostril increases nasal pressure, allowing the Eustachian tube to open. This helps air flow into the middle ear so pressure can equalise and fluid can clear. Key benefits Drug-free and non-surgical Quick to use (seconds per inflation) Supports relief of ear pressure and related symptoms What’s in the box 1 x reusable nose piece (polypropylene) Latex balloons (single-patient use; see Warnings for latex information) Instructions for Use Directions (Quick Start) Attach a balloon to the flat end of the nose piece. Pre-stretch the balloon slightly before first use. Hold the round part of the nose piece firmly against one nostril and gently close the other nostril with a finger. Inhale through your mouth, close your mouth, then inflate the balloon using your nose until it is about grapefruit size (approx. 10–12 cm). While keeping the balloon in place, swallow a few times to help open the Eustachian tube. Repeat on the other nostril. Tip: A slight initial ear sensation is common and indicates the technique is working. It may take a little practice to master. © Otovent® — Product information provided for adult use.
